DMV Handbook

The DMV Handbook is free at your local DMV or can be downloaded. Find time to study the handbook as well as road signs so you’ll feel prepared to drive. You’ll also need this information when you take your written exam for a NC learner’s permit.

NC DMV

Many of your driving questions and concerns can be addressed at DMV.org. This website lists all tests, documents, requirements, paperwork and fees you will need to obtain an NC Learner’s Permit or driver’s license.

NC DOT

The North Carolina Department of Transportation website, www.ncdot.gov, lists all steps and required documents for obtaining a NC license.
